User Guide

Who is this for?

A single, consolidated guide for all roles. Start with Getting Started, then jump to your role below: Viewer, Contributor, or Admin.

Getting Started

1. Go to Platform from the top navigation or visit /app.
2. Sign in with your email and password. Use Reset Password if needed.
3. Use the filters (High/Medium/Low) and the search box to narrow the list and map.

Exploring the Data

• All Wrecks: Open the directory to browse all known wrecks and jump to a detail report.
• Report View: Shows media, vitals, scoring panels (expandable), AI Summary, and the Survey Notes Log.
• Monitoring: See the System Monitors on the Platform page; report pages also show alerts within the notes log.

AI Summary & Notes

The AI Summary gives a concise overview of the wreck’s risk and context. The Notes Log shows Phase 2 notes and environmental alerts in a unified timeline.

Role Guide: Viewer

• Browse wrecks from /app using filters (High/Medium/Low) and search.
• Open reports to review media, vitals, scoring panels, and the AI Summary.
• Check Monitoring cards on the Platform for seismic and storm statuses; alerts also appear in the Notes Log.

Role Guide: Contributor

Phase 2 Notes & On-Site Checklist

1. Open a wreck report at /reports?id=....
2. Use Phase 2 Summary to add or edit notes; click Save Phase 2.
3. Use the On-Site Checklist modal during fieldwork; submitting appends a structured note to Phase 2.

Media Management

• Upload Images from the report; review in the gallery after completion.
• Reference Media shows curated images and diagrams separately.
• Delete your own uploads if enabled; otherwise ask an admin.

Propose a Reassessment

1. Click Flag for Reassessment on the report page.
2. Review the diffs per factor and totals; add justification as needed and submit.
3. After admin accept, the AI Summary updates automatically.

Tip: Ensure depth, seabed type, and structural condition are accurate—these influence storm alerts.

Role Guide: Admin

Model Management

• Open /admin and use Gemini Status to fetch supported models.
• Select a Preferred Model and Save; AI functions honor this setting with safe fallback.

System Monitors

• From /app, use Run Now on Seismic or Tropical Storm cards.
• Use Run all monitoring functions in Admin to trigger both.

Approvals & Reviews

• Open /approvals to review reassessments; accept or reject after inspecting diffs.
• Acceptance writes a snapshot and refreshes the AI Summary.

Housekeeping

• Media cleanup (remove inappropriate/duplicate uploads) from report galleries.
• Data hygiene: verify coordinates, depth, seabed type, and structural condition.
• Access: manage roles per internal procedures.

Troubleshooting

• If the Platform stalls on loading, refresh the page after a few seconds.
• If you cannot access certain controls, you may need contributor or admin permissions.
• For access issues, contact an admin.
